Slay Raché’s “After Hours” Soars Up the Charts, Captivating Global Audiences

Emerging pop and R&B artist Slay Raché has taken the music world by storm with her latest single, “After Hours.” The track has skyrocketed to the top of the iTunes charts, securing the #6 spot in the pop category and landing at #26 among overall songs worldwide.

This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone for the singer, who has been passionately pursuing music since the age of three.

After Hours” is a sultry exploration of a clandestine love affair, delving into themes of longing and desire for the unattainable. With its smooth, soulful, and sassy vibe, the song showcases Slay Raché’s powerful vocals and unique blend of pop and R&B influences. “It’s about a down-low love affair,” she explains. “It’s a song about longing and desire for something you can’t really have.”

The accompanying music video, shot in various locations across Brooklyn, captures the intimate and playful essence of the song. Focusing on a solo performance, the video aims to immerse viewers in the song’s vibe. “We wanted to capture the essence of ‘After Hours’ in a way that’s both visually engaging and true to the music,” says Slay Raché. “My team is amazing, and they really do the hard work. I appreciate them so much.”

Born and raised in Pennsylvania and now splitting her time between New York and her home state, Slay Raché’s musical journey began with a gift from her Aunt Cathy—a tiny plastic piano and a microphone. Inspired by legends like Whitney Houston and Barbra Streisand, she honed her skills performing their classics in homemade videos. Her passion for music led her to study jazz vocals at The New School, but she soon realized her true calling lay in pop and R&B.

A pivotal moment in her career came in 2019 when she met her manager and songwriter, L, through a chance connection at school. “L is an amazing manager and songwriter who has not just helped create ‘Slay Raché’ but also taught me how to be a recording artist,” she reflects. Prior to this partnership, she performed live with jazz bands under the pseudonym Juliette Shipp.

Slay Raché draws inspiration from a diverse array of artists, including Victoria Monét, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, and Jazmine Sullivan. Her sound is a fusion of her jazz training and contemporary pop, creating a distinctive musical identity that’s both sophisticated and accessible. “I’m all about being yourself, being empowered to express yourself, and living your truth,” she shares.

Beyond music, Slay Raché has explored various creative avenues, including participating in the Ms. New York beauty pageant in 2019. An adventurous spirit, she even recounts a memorable shark bite incident at the age of nine in Florida.

With the success of “After Hours,” Slay Raché is poised for a breakout 2025 year. She plans to release additional singles and develop a live show concept that will bring her charismatic energy to audiences worldwide. “It’s my hope that I can tour the world and inspire people with my voice,” she says enthusiastically.
