Los Angeles, CA – October 8, 2025 – Grammy-nominated R&B artist Kevin McCall is returning with his most personal work to date: “Have You Ever”, set for release on October 24, 2025.
Produced and Composed by Grammy winning Producer and Music Publisher Jovan Dawkins, the song is a vulnerable expression of faith, longing, and redemption anchored by McCall’s signature melodic depth and raw storytelling.
Following his recent release “Risk It All,” this new single is the second installment in the rollout for The Martyr EP, a highly anticipated project slated for later this year.
“Have You Ever” explores some of McCall’s most intimate reflections: his desire to reconnect with his father (Kevin McCall Sr.), his concern for his grandmother’s health following a stroke, and the pain of distance from his daughters. Through it all, the song becomes a testimony of resilience and spiritual grounding.
“This song took time to finish,” says McCall. “The day before I was supposed to record the original session, my grandmother had a stroke.”
Raised in the church since the age of 8, McCall’s musical DNA is deeply rooted in gospel, shaped by the influence of artists like Daryl Coley, Kim McFarland, and The Clark Sisters. His ability to blend contemporary R&B with the soul of gospel gives “Have You Ever” a haunting beauty where prayer becomes poetry and melody becomes medicine.
The single is also a rare moment of reflection on McCall’s relationship with his father. “My dad is a wise man. He has great insight,” McCall shares. “I wish we had a closer relationship. That’s part of what this song is: a prayer for reconnection, for healing.”
At the heart of “Have You Ever” is a simple but powerful message: hope. “As long as you have hope, it’ll give you energy, motivation, and healing,” McCall says. “All you need is hope.”
McCall returns to the industry with renewed perspective and purpose. Rather than run from his past, he is choosing to confront it and use it to create music that uplifts, inspires, and transforms.
