Mixed by Bob Clearmountain, likely the most famous mixing engineer in the world, this is the first single of Alberto Lombardi’s new record called “Home”.
Clearmountain is renown for his work with Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones, and agreed to work with Alberto saying: “Great Guitar Player, I’m in!”.
The song is a rich and epic groovy ballad, with beautiful guitar work and and intense lyrics about a new fresh start. Some of the words are based on the most beautiful lines in the Inferno, by Italian poet Dante.
Dante imagines that Ulysses sails to unknown shores with his men, instead of going back to Itaca, and leads them beyond the pillars of Hercules, where the world was believed to end, at the time.
His speech to convince them to endure the challenge is a milestone in literature and shines a light on the human soul and his infinite capabilities.
“Ma per seguir virtute e conoscenza” – “we were born to persue virtue and knowledge”.
Alberto is a world renown acoustic guitar player, praised by the most prestigious acoustic guitar magazines and recognized by stars like Nile Rodgers and Tommy Emmanuel, but he’s first and foremost an electric rock guitarist and a singer-songwriter.
He is now touring with his tribute to the Stratocaster, where he plays all the music that mad this guitar an icon. From Hendrix to Clapton, from Gilmour to Jeff Beck.
